First Grade Coach Hadley Jackson previews Round 2 against Wests

The 2019 Season is now underway and we would like to thank the strong crowd of Coogee faithful who were on hand last week at Coogee Oval to support our four grade teams. Our 2nd Grade side was the team of the day, coming away with a tough 26-19 victory.

Eastwood presented a very experienced, well-drilled team on Saturday. Our 1st grade boys were right in the middle of a great contest for the first 50/60 minutes but then a few crucial errors were made and Eastwood capitalised to turn the match in their favour.

These situations are something we must learn from and, as we make the necessary adjustments each week, we will see this group grow into the team we know they can be.

I would like to congratulate the following boys who made their first appearance in 1st Grade for Randwick, either starting, or off the bench. This is a fantastic achievement and something that each individual, and their families should be proud of.

It is now up to them to not just be a Randwick 1st Grade player, but be a very good Randwick 1st Grade player and over a long period of time.

Congratulations go to the following players:

  • George Hendry
  • Nathan Den-Houdt
  • Kyle Harris
  • Christian Poidevin
  • Darcy Searl
  • Jackson Mohi
  • Sean Connor
  • Ben Donaldson
  • George Lolo
  • Connor Size
  • Freddy Dorrough

For Round 2 we travel to Concord as a club for Super Saturday. West Harbour is traditionally a tough side to beat at Concord and this will be no different this week. It is a great opportunity for all seven mens teams to be together supporting each other.

Our Randwick Magic will travel to Wollongong on Saturday for their first ever 15s trial game. We wish Fidel and the girls all the best and know they will be very hard to beat every single time they step on the field.

Finally, I look forward to seeing as many supporters dressed in myrtle on Saturday at Concord Oval, as we bounce back and put in a performance that will make everyone proud.

UTW!
