1st and 3rd Colts are off to the Grand Final!

First Colts

On Saturday 1st Colts had the luxury of another home semi-final, with Manly the only team standing in Randwick’s way of a Grand Final berth at Coogee Oval. Randwick open their account first with a converted try however, Manly scored the next two tries to lead Randwick 12 points to 7. The tit for tat continued, with Randwick scoring another converted try only to have Manly return the compliment and take back the lead.

Only after an indiscretion by Manly, which resulted in their No. 4 Ben Wood being yellow carded for an illegal tackle, did Randwick then run in four unanswered tries: two by Fullback Hugo Carr and two by Left Wing Hudson Berry. At this point, Randwick were in a commanding position, having scored 41 points. Manly had the final say in the game, with a converted try, but it was not enough.

Third Colts

On Sunday, 3rd Colts faced Gordon at Chatswood Oval. In spite of Gordon’s home ground advantage, higher position on the table and scoring the first try, Randwick were never phased. Randwick put their best foot forward with three tries and, for most of the game, held a 19-point to 5 lead.

Gordon’s late charge scoring two tries was not enough to defeat Randwick.
