Colts Director Peter Dumbleton Reviews last weekend's Games

Randwick Colts Director Peter Dumbleton reviews last weekends games and looks forward to the next few weeks.

This weekend we find ourselves having a well-deserved break from the playing field after an extremely hard worked and rewarding opening first seven weeks.

The Colts sides find themselves all within the top four spots after the opening few rounds and are tracking well as we head into our next six week stretch.

The platform laid and continued within the Club's strength and conditioning program has kept the majority of the boys injury-free and thus breeds huge competition for team selections. This boosts the Club's playing roster keenly and makes for weekly selection headaches of the kind all coaches want.

Last Saturday saw the Colts playing group being able to field four Colts sides in a busy encounter at Manly Oval. All four sides left the North with victories, along with bonus points under their collective belts.

The game of the day came at the last where the 1sT Colts boys came from behind for a 42-35 point win in an end-to-end thriller. Randwick lead 21-7 at half time and looked to be much the better side until, to Manly’s credit, the home side put on a 25 minute display of their own to take the lead 35-21 with 12 minutes remaining on the clock. Randwick knocked at the door from there on in and finally got the all-important converted try with the last play of the game sealing a euphoric win. It was an enthralling nail-biter for all players, supporters and coaches alike.

We look forward to our road trip out West next weekend to play Western Sydney Two Blues. Always a tough day out but hopefully we return east with 3 wins from 3 and march firmly into the fixture versus Sydney University the following Friday night. Your support for this Friday night fixture on June 7th is hugely requested. Please head over to support the boys in myrtle.
