At the 103rd Randwick District Rugby Union Football Club Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club last night, three former players who became some of our most dedicated volunteers were bestowed with Life Membership of our Football Club.
We heartily congratulate Ian Holder, Brett Dooley and Ian Hartley (all pictured above) who all received the requisite number of votes to be awarded with this honour.
Randwick DRUFC President Brian ‘BOS’ O’Sullivan said “As a club we feel extremely privileged to have produced some of the greatest players in the game. However, equally we have developed incredible clubman who have played a lot of seasons in Myrtle Green, won premierships and who have then also gone on to do amazing things for us off the field as volunteers. Two of them even began their journey with us as our ballboys!”
“Brett Dooley, Ian Hartley and Ian Holder have all had long associations with us as players, volunteers and supporters, with their loyal service across many fronts spanning decades. They have all enormously contributed in their own ways to making Randwick the club we are.” O’Sullivan added.
“I’m proud that we can celebrate the deeds of all three men who have contributed so much to our success and importantly our cultural fabric. They all richly deserve this honour and I am so pleased they have been recognised.” O’Sullivan concluded.
On behalf of all at Randwick DRUFC we thank these three men for their immense contributions to our famous club and congratulate each of them on this richly deserved honour of Life Membership.
