2020 Randwick DRUFC AGM Notice & Presidents Message

I trust you are well and coping with a year that has not been easy for anyone. I am writing specifically to provide our supporters with an update on our 2020 AGM planning.

The COVID-19 NSW Government issued Health Orders and the extremely late end to this Shute Shield rugby season, has caused the Football Club Council to monitor the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the hope that things would have improved to allow the running of this years’ AGM as it had in the past, in terms of timing and number of attendees, but this has not unfortunately eventuated.

Therefore, the Football Club Council unanimously decided to hold the Annual General Meeting (AGM), on January 13, 2021, instead of its usual December timing.

The Football Club Council did consider conducting the meeting as a virtual (online) meeting but given the broad diverse membership and the access of all of the members to the required technology to be able to participate in a meeting of that type, the Football Club Council decided that there could be a significant number of members unable to dial in or to connect to a virtual meeting.

The Football Club Council took the view that a number of members would be prejudiced by holding the AGM in that fashion and that we would push on with a physical meeting to be held on January 13, 2021 at Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club.

Please note due to COVID-19 related capacity restrictions, this years’ meeting will be limited in attendance to Life Members of Randwick DRUFC and Current Football Club Financial Members only (paid up by Round 1, July 18, 2020), plus current registered Randwick DRUFC players - who all have voting rights at the AGM.

Aside from that, only relevant Football Club and venue staff who are required to operate the AGM, are able to be in attendance.

Members of these groups have been directly invited to pre-register to attend and no-one will be able to enter the venue who hasn’t been invited or hasn’t RSVP’d in advance. Unfortunately, in the current environment we can’t allow anyone else the opportunity to attend this year’s AGM without contravening the current venue capacity limit at Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club

However, closer to the AGM date, if the NSW Public Health Order is relaxed further we will review the meeting capacity limit in conjunction with Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club, to enable more people from outside those categories to attend the AGM. We will keep you posted on that.

If you have any issues or concerns in relation to the 2020 AGM please feel free to email me at office@randwickrugby.com.au

I thank everyone for their understanding in all of this and apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

It certainly has been a period like no other.

Up the Wicks!
