First Grade

Despite atrocious conditions on Tuesday evening the boys did not leave training till 9pm well aware they faced a formidable team on Saturday. The students started off well and quickly got to a 14 point lead. Having had one try disallowed, Randwick never gave up when No. 8 Christian Poidevin scored the first try for Randwick, enabling Randwick to go into the break trailing Uni 7 points to 19.

In the second half Randwick continued their attacking game and applied enough pressure upon Uni for them to give away two penalties in kickable range. Fly half Tom Halse successfully converting both. Randwick rallied well to keep the score poised at 13 points to 19 for a significant part of the second half, when Uni gained an advantage which led to another try. Randwick gallantly stuck to their game plan coming away with a last minute try in the corner by left winger Jackson Mohi. Coaches praise went to full back Fred Dorrough.
